BOA Weekend - October 29 & 30

Overview of our BOA Competition Weekend

October 29th and 30th will be a great weekend for our band! We will be heading to Jacksonville State for our regional Bands of America Competition on Saturday and then have a day of fun at Six Flags in Atlanta on Sunday. Below, we have parent logistics for the weekend. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Kollmeier.

Competition Details

Our competition will be at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. There are a few important details to know.

  • The competition is divided into two parts, preliminary and final. There are two separate spectator tickets for the competition. The field is cleared between the two.

  • There is a clear bag policy for everyone who enters the stadium. This applies to all spectators as well as band members when they come watch.

  • No outside food or drink are allowed inside the stadium.

  • For spectators, if you are planning to eat from the concession stand, please plan to do so during competition. The concession stands will be closed in between prelims and finals.

  • Our preliminary competition time is 4:30pm, the last band in prelims. Awards for preliminary competition are scheduled to start at 5:00pm. At that point, we will find out if the band makes it to final competition.

  • If we make finals competition, our second performance time will be announced during the directors’ meeting immediately after prelim awards. We will perform and stay through awards at 10:45pm.

  • If we do not make finals, the band will come into the stands to watch finals competition until approximately 10pm, at which point we will head out to Georgia.
